Project Information

The city of Ulaanbaatar, an important city that serves as the “heart of Mongolia” has experienced rapid urbanization with 49.5% of Mongolia's population and 56% of registered vehicles concentrated there. As a result, severe traffic congestion and air pollution that is fatal to citizens' health are worsening. To solve this problem, Ulaanbaatar is at a point where it is absolutely necessary to improve the current unfavorable public transportation system and modernize public transportation infrastructure. The concentration of population in Ulaanbaatar is expected to continue in the future, with the current population (1.6 million) expected to increase by about 57% by 2045.
